I get the idea that today’s media would not publish this headline: “Hitler murders six million.” Instead, we’d get: “Hitler led troubled depressed childhood.” Name me one victim from the plane crash. Even one? But their killer’s name and face are world famous; just like he wanted it to be. Instead of mourning the dead and/or celebrating the good that was in their lives, society is engaged in some kind of weird twisted fetish search for the soul of a bad guy.

I really just don’t care why he did it. Lots of people in life are depressed or suicidal. They don’t necessarily do evil things because of it. Whatever this guy’s issues were, what he did was planned, deliberate, intentional mass murder. That’s it. That’s all there is to see. There’s nothing else to discuss.

Maybe some of this is an obsession of our modern culture; the quest to answer the question: “Why?” It’s the desire to understand why somebody could do such a thing. So that we can then do something to stop it from happening again. And then when it’s fixed, we can all feel safe again when we travel and fly. It’s why the South Park guys have the “Hero of the Modern Age” as “Captain Hindsight”.

Well, again, whatever; what he did was planned, deliberate, intentional mass murder. That’s it. That’s all there is to see. There’s nothing else to discuss. Instead, how about, “He’s just an evil dude.” That’s all we need to understand.

And no matter how hard you try, evil dudes are always going to do evil things. We’ll never understand it. We’ll never be able to stop them all. All we can do in response is battle evil with good. Yet instead of showing the good that we all are; we’re bathing in the evil. Not good.

Oh, Hitler dude, we’re just so very sorry for what’s happened to you in your past. If only somebody had liked your paintings, maybe you wouldn’t have tried to liquidate the human race. That must be the reason you did all those horrible things. Poor Hitler.
